No video output when switching from a Phenom X4 955 to an FX 8320

Hey everyone. I just bought today an old FX8320 to replace my even older Phenom II X4 955, but for some reason my PC won't give me any video output whenever I try to boot up with the FX8320.
My motherboard is a Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 rev 1.1 with its latest F10e BIOS flashed, I also tried flashing the F9 BIOS with no success.
So far I've tried:
Clearing the CMOS, multiple times
Boot up with just one RAM stick, tried each RAM slot and each RAM stick (I've got 4x4gb)
A different CPU cooler (switched between aftermarket Hyper 212 and FX8320's stock one)
Booting without any USB or anything else connected, just the power and the monitor
Changing the RAM timings to various settings
Changing the RAM clock speeds
Changing the HT Link and NB clocks a little bit up

No matter what I do, as soon as I put the II X4 955 back on, everything works again, I have no clue about what else to try.
The FX8320 looks pretty flawless on the outside. None of the pins are bent even the slightest, nothing seems burned, physically it's perfectly fine at least.

I think I'm the only person here I know that has an AM3+ motherboard around my area so, testing it with another mobo of one of my friends is not an option...

I've talked with the seller about the issue and he told me that it could be something related to a clock in the motherboard, that the processor is running faster than what the mobo can handle but I really think it's all bs, since a 990fxa with this processor is a pretty common combination, so..

Any other ideas?

Solution
By the way guys, the processor was tested yesterday in a MSI 970a-G46 Gaming motherboard and it worked flawlessly, so.. whatever caused the FX8320 to not boot up in my 990FXA-UD3 remains a mystery for us all.
No idea. All sounds very strange.

You mention trying different configurations of settings with various components (like RAM timings, etc.); have you set everything back to stock settings and trying to boot? (I imagine you have but may as well check on it.)

Indeed, I've tried it, it's really strange. I'm leaning towards a damaged CPU but it shows no physical damage whatsoever and the seller told me he just sold it because he went for a Ryzen which makes sense since he was selling a motherboard and RAMs too, so I don't know. Sucks not having another AM3+ motherboard to test

What are your memory sticks specifications (brand, model number, clocks and timings) please?
As it seems yor motherboard has some memory restrictions when going from AM3 to AM3+ CPU >> http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Memory/memory_ga-990fxa-ud3.pdf

4 sticks of 4GB 1600mhz each, Kingston HyperX Blu KHX1600C9D3B1K2, timings 11-11-11-28-39.

What I understand from the warning (and please correct me if I'm getting this wrong) is that I can only run Single Channel if I want to use RAMs of over 1866mhz with an AM3+ CPU, but since I'm running dual channel 1600mhz it should be fine, shouldn't it?

Indeed. Try clearing CMOS following your motherboard manual instructions I just uploaded captures of, good luck.

A good practice in this kind of booting issue is to:
- boot with bare minimum hardware: disconnecting all hard drives and optical drives, card readers,
- double checking CPU and motherboard power connections,
- making sure CPU is mounted properly +++
- and CPU cooler Fan is attached to motherboard dedicated CPU_FAN connector,+++
- loading only one memory stick onto manufacturer recommended memory slot which is for this motherboard the furthest one from CPU socket.+++

Excuse me, had a little bit of confusion there since I'm following this issue in two forums simultaneously, I have tried both methods already and they both do work in terms of resetting the CMOS, but it gives no success when trying to boot with the 8320.

Indeed as stated in the OP I've tried booting with just the essentials for it to POST, which it doesn't.. Power connections are fine, otherwise the X4 955 wouldn't boot either, CPU falls nicely without any pressure just like the other one and it's properly mounted, and I've tried two different fancoolers, and I've also tried the last one which was taking one of my 4 sticks and trying to boot with it on each RAM slot, unfortunately without success. I'm really clueless at this point

As previously stated, it's a second-hand one:

I'll try that out in monday, sadly today they're closed :(
I highly doubt they have any high end AM3+ boards around anyway, living in Venezuela being a tech geek isn't easy at all..

Not entirely true, my 990FXA board came stock with an F6 rev BIOS which did not support any FX higher than 8150, but I get your point. I'll try to test it in another board, otherwise I'll try to return the cpu next week

We can close this thread now, I went through all the places I knew around the city that fix computers and stuff, and (expectedly) none of them had an AM3+ board for testing purposes, they (very few) only had them sealed brand new for sale. This being said, I had to return te FX8320 to its previous owner and hopefully get the money back. Thanks anyway, I legitimately hate the country I live in.

Sorry for your trouble mate, maybe it's good opportunity to get rid all together of AMD FX outdated/ power hungry and heat over-producing platform and upgrade your PC, you can find great used combos on ebay CPU-RAM-motherboard on intel 2nd/3rd generation chipsets. Better luck yo you.
