Hello, 3 days ago i upgraded my AMD Athlon X2 cpu to a AMD FX 6300 Six-Core cpu, had some issues installing it but at the end got it working, since yesterday when i play games my pc shutdowns randomly and won't start again after some minutes, i've been checking the temps and they all are normal, cpu is 40-45º and gpu is about the same. This only happens when i play games for 1-2 hours, i know it's not the cpu overheating since i check it's temp every 10 seconds or so, here are my specs, hope you can help me.

CPU: AMD FX 6300 Six-Core cpu
GPU: AMD HD Radeon 5450
Motherboard: Asrock N68-VS3 FX
RAM: 1x 2GB DDR3 and 1x 4GB DDR3
PSU: I don't know the model but it says 525w

The 6300 is not supported by that board.

No, no pins are bent, the issues i had was that the computer booted to a black screen, removed the cpu and installed it again and it started again normally, then the pc started shutting down as soon as i played any game and fixed it lowering the cpu frequency to 3.1ghz, but now it just shutdowns and won't let me start it again after some minutes, which leads me to think is an overheating issue but don't know what component

If it isn't supported it shouldn't even start right? My pc starts and it's all good while i'm not gaming

No, a lot of times you just get some weird results.

The support sheet only lists the 4 cores AM3+ FX chips.

Various thoughts come to mind, the FX series shares memory channels, perhaps having to support 2 extra cores, the SB cannot cope, it might even be the odd RAM modules - try taking out the 2GB and see what happens.

I hope the FX6300 didnt cost you much, because although it is a big improvement over the X2, the FX range is still very weak; I had nearly the same upgrade path, X2 550 Black, Phenom1090T, and FX6300 - with a board change in the middle, as the SATA ports started falling apart and failing on the original (Asus) board.

FYI, I went back to the 1090T, the FX6300 couldnt match it without an extreme overclock, and once I overclocked the 1090, it was no contest.

Okay just checked and you guys are right, thanks, thinking in getting this motherboard https://www.asrock.com/mb/NVIDIA/N68-GS4USB3%20FX/index.asp#CPU next week, it does support the 6300, also, while i don't have the new motherboard, can i just enable 4 cores for the 6300 and have no problems?

You have the CPU and the Motherboard, if you can disable it, try... I think you are in unknown territory.
As for buying another motherboard, is this a new one you are going for or secondhand?
The reason I ask, is because you will end up throwing good money after bad. Personally, as hard as it is, you should get a second hand Intel system and get a Series 4 Intel i5/7. That way you can keep your ram.
Also it means you get a really nice upgrade for less than $200 USD

As Electro, unless it is a dirt cheap board, or having the PC working is vital, save your money for something else; even an entry level Ryzen set-up will blow away that FX6300, even if it worked reliably and you could OC it to beyond 5GHz.
