A few years ago I bought a storage expansion adapter for my Xbox, along with a hard drive. Recently I stopped using my Xbox and I was wondering if I could use the hard drive for my pc. The thing I do not know is if I have to reset or reprogram the hard drive for windows.

What make and model? Should be printed on the HDD's labeling.

Hopefully all you should need to do is to format the drive, run some diagnostic software via the manufacturer's website to test the drive, and then install as a clean fresh HDD.

No harm in trying as long as you are careful about the process. Read the screens carefully and be sure that you are, indeed, formatting the correct drive.

Plan it all out beforehand and be sure you have your system and data all backed up. Just in case.
