Greetings!

Just got a note from our provider that our Inet connection will be through PPPOE and so our public IPs will need to be configured on our router. How can we config our router to make our public IPs work.

Here are the details

WAN - PPPOE (username and password) was given to us
Frame IP - 122.54.x.x
Our public Ips - 122.54.x.x - 122.54.x.x (5 public IPs)
Gateway - 122.54.x.x

I think they configured their modem in bridge mode. Pls help. Thanks

Why aren't you talking with your provider on this?

That's the problem. When they changed it to pppoe then they said that the config to the router is now on our end. Connects to the inet though but concern is how to config my public ips to our router

I know how to setup the pppoe username and password. Inet is working. My question is how to config my router so that my public ips can be visible on the inet. I'm testing it first to a dlink 605 router before buying a dedicated one. Ty

"public IP's"
Are these static IP addresses given to you by the ISP?
Or port forwarding to internal IP addresses?

In any case, the "how" should be outlined in your user manual.

Yes, these are public ips we subscribe to our isp. Just don't know where to config in our router so that they can be seen in the inet through the lan ports of the router

On the same subnet you would configure 5 virtual routers with LAN gateways on the same subnet. DHCP can only pick one of them. Any devices needing to use the others would need to be configured manually. a virtual bridge with the phy port and the WAN gateways would be needed. LAN gateways and LAN ports would be bridged.

With separate subnets you would configure 5 virtual routers and 5 VLANs on different subnets. WAN is bridged but not LAN. To get PCs to connect to each other locally across subnets you would need route rules. to create separation or DMZ make the route rules not allow packets to pass to other subnets. You would need a layer3 switch and trunk ports on both to pass all the subnet traffic to the switch.
