Do I have to re install Windows 10 if I changed motherboard?

I broke my ASUS z270e motherboard. I replaced it with another ASUS z270e, the exact same model. Ever since this happened, I get problems connecting to games. For example, in Fortnite, when I play with PC people, my ping is 20-30. When I cross platform, I get 100 ping. I contacted ASUS asking about why this could be happening and I asked people on the Fortnite forums and all they said was for me to reinstall windows to get a fresh wipe so older drivers wouldn't mess with the newer drivers. However, if the drivers were messed up, then wouldn't my ping be high even when I am playing with just PC people? Because like I said, I only lag when I play cross platform but do fine when I am with other PC people. If someone could please help me because it is a hassle to wipe out everything to reinstall it all again.

Solution

It is better to do a fresh clean install.

Starting clean is always best.

Do wifi drivers effect the range of the wifi signal? Because I don't understand. If the drivers are messed up because I never re installed windows, then why is my ping fine when I play with PC players but when I play with console I lag? Also, it is the exact same motherboard so do I really need to reinstall windows?

Bro, is there a way I can fresh install windows without a disk/product key? I bought windows 10 2 years ago and I can't find the physical disk or envelop that had the disk which had the product key.

If it's activated now you don't need the key as it's tied to the motherboard.

Download Windows 10 from Microsoft here using their tool and create the install media.
