I just recently bought and built in the Sapphire RX 580 Nitro +, which features an open.air cooler, and the 140mm Fractal Design Dynamic X2.
My original idea was this: The fan, placed right in front of the GPU, would constantly supply the GPU with fresh air. But after reading about airflow and turbulences, I am now unsure, if it works like that. Because the fan also blows air directly into the heatfins, I now wonder if this traps hot air from leaving the card, so that instead of being able to escape to both ends of the card, hot air can now only escype through the back, because of the fan blowing in air from the front. Is this a reasonable concern?
