Hi,
I have currently got GA-Z270X-Gaming K5 and an i7-7700k with a 7200RPM HHD, however, I just bought the new Samsung 970 Evo 250Gb, and according to PC Part Picker, it says "The motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the M.2 slot is populated, two SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports are disabled."
Because of this i am not quite sure in which M.2 slot to put it in my motherboard and also if i put in the M.2, would that mean the HHD would not work?

Solution
If you put your 970 evo into M2A slot (the lower one) you will not lose any SATA slots. If you put it into M2G slot (higher one) then SATA slots marked as SATA3_4 and SATA3_5 will be disabled, meaning you can't connect anything to those slots.

Look in your user manual, Section "1-9 Internal Connectors"
That lists all the relevant configurations.

Hi DRagor,

Thanks for your response, does it matter which one I put it in? Will it affect speed?

No, it will not affect its speed.
