Power supply help!

Hi I recently bought a Riotoro enigma 750w and when I turn on my computer my monitor just says no signal. I have a GTX 1060, Intel i7 7700K, 8G ddr4 RAM and a Gigabyte H110-S2H. It does run but my monitor just says no signal and I really thought that the PSU would be able to handle what I’m running. It works when I unplug the PCI-E cable from my GPU and use the motherboards HDMI cable which indicates to me that it can’t handle both the GPU and the CPU. Would you expect this with the PSU I have or is something not right? Anything which may help would be great! Many thanks!

Your components aren’t at full load when starting your computer. 100w at most. And the enigma’s a decent power supply.

If you’re getting signal from the motherboard/CPU, but not from the GPU I suspect it to be a GPU problem.

The PSU is only at minimal load when booting the system. There appears to be another issue. Maybe the card isn't seated fully? You forgot to move the video cable from the iGPU port to the gfx card's port? The 6-pin cable isn't fully inserted at either end? The video cable isn't all the way in the card's port?

Hey, thank you both for your help! I managed to try with another graphics card and still the same issue so I assume it could possibly be a problem with the motherboard slot. (Well that’s what I’m hoping anyways as if some form of damage is my fault, I’d rather it be the motherboard for cost reasons) could it be the motherboard slot?

Yes, it could. Especially if you've tried another known-working gfx card and have the same results. Was the card one that also needed a 6-pin connection?

Yes it was also a 6-pin connection, and it was less powerful then the gtx 1060 so I’m hoping that this shows that it’s not the PSU and it’s not the GPU.

Evidence points in that direction. You might try a couple other things first, tho. Try a different HDMI cable. Or DVI if you have one available. Also, check that your monitor is looking for HDMI input and not one of the other inputs the monitor has. Most are auto-seeking, but older ones still need to be manually set.

Thanks for the suggestions! I have tried all of them and still the same issue therefore I have contacted the seller of the motherboard and hoping it can be replaced under warranty. I'm going to leave this thread open until I have confirmed to you that this has fixed this issue, if that doesn't fix the issue I'll let you know and hopefully you will continue to help :)

Okay so finally got it repaired, it was an issue with the PCI-E slot. Thanks!
