Im upgrading from 8GB to 16GB and im wondering if i need to buy the same model

Hey guys, i currently have a Crucial 8GB Single DDR3 1600 MT/s model ram and im planning to upgrade to 16GB so im wondering should i buy the same model or can i buy something cheaper? Right now im in a tight budget so i need to find something under 40 dollars. Can you guys help me out?

As long as the pairs themselves are matched, I've found no issue with changing brands. Of course you want the specs the same as the first pair for best stability.

Even with the same model when mixing ram not on a kit sometime they work, sometime they don't,
