Hello.
I want to buy a PC with these specs:

CPU: Intel Coffee Lake, Core i7 8700K 3.70GHz box
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GAMING 11GB DDR5X 352-bit
PSU: Seasonic Focus+, 80+ Platinum, 850W
MotherBoard: GIGABYTE AORUS Z370 Gaming 7
Cooler CPU: Noctua NH-D15
Cooler Pasta: ARCTIC AC MX-4 4 grame
RAM: G.Skill Trident Z 16GB DDR4 3600MHz CL15 Dual Channel Kit
SSD: Samsung 970 EVO Series 250GB PCI Express x4 M.2 2280
HDD: Hard disk WD Blue 1TB SATA-III 7200 RPM 64MB
Case: Cooler Master MasterCase MC500

My question: Will I be able to OC the CPU To 5.0GHZ with these specs? Thanks

Every K-CPU is unique and has its own limits when it comes to OC. For your 5Ghz ambition you will need at least a 240mm AIO water cooling as the NH-D15 will not be capable to manage all the heat.

The CM Master Case btw I like very much. Nice case! Only the single 140mm fan in the front is not sufficient.

What about this alternative? https://www.hardwareluxx.de/index.php/artikel/hardware/gehaeuse/46511-cooler-master-mastercase-h500m-im-test-ein-gehaeuse-zwei-fronten.html
With its 2 200mm front fans even better for high OC ambitions. ;)

Possibly is the answer...I have the same setup with the exact same motherboard...the only difference is my cooler is the H150i AIO which is a 360mm and allows me 5GHz (non-delidded) though I run it at 4.9GHz for full time, and I use adaptive vcore settings.

Voltage will be key and try not to go over 1.35 to 1.36v (thats all I am comfterble with) though others are willing to go all the way to 1.4v..hence my 4.9GHz as I dont want a high vcore. Ultimatly it comes down to the silicon you have and most 8700K's can do 5GHz but dont be surprised if 4.8/4.9GHz is top wack on your cooler though the Noctua is about the very best in Air Cooling, still it might not be enough.

That cooler you picked for your CPU Is totally wrong. That CPU cooler is for an AMD build. It will not work correctly for your Intel 8700K.
As for 5GHz, yes...it will OC that high. In the “updated” BIOS (I believe it is BIOS ver. F6) there is a setting that OC’s your CPU to 5GHz and also “automatically” adjusts the voltages for you.
The Gigabyte AORUS Gaming 7 MoBo and the Intel i7-8700K CPU were meant to be paired together. Each compliments the other. You should have no problems whatsoever hitting 5GHz if you use the preset OC function in the BIOS.
PS: I have almost the same setup and 5MHz is easily
