Is it dangerous to run my desktop this way

My desktop wasn't turning on one day after I left it running a couple of days continuously. The part of the house it was in was considerably hotter than the rest and I also made the mistake of setting the tower on the floor. The next morning I couldn't get it to turn on so my husband helped me troubleshoot it and he found a blown fuse in my power supply. Instead of replacing the fuse with a new one he soldered the two ends together making a solid connection minus the fuse. He claims it will work and it will not harm my desktop however I am not so confident. I am afraid to put it back together let alone turn it on. Can anyone help me out. I want to know what are the risks involved if I proceed with it this way. Thanks in advance.

Minus the fuse, I assume now there is no fuse at all. That’s very risky, not only for your pc but your house.

Most times a fuse blows it’s because something else has failed and it’s doing it’s job of adding protection. Bypassing the fuse it could damage the pc or it could in worse case start a fire.
