My Specs:

Windows 10
MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon Motherboard
Intel i7-7700k (No Overclock)
No Graphics Card
G.Skill Ripjaws V Series F4-3200C16D-16GVRB (2 x 8GB)
Corsair CX850M V2 2017 Edition PSU
Corsair Force MP500 M.2 2280 SSD (Operating System and Programs)
Samsung 850 EVO SSD (Storage)

Problem:

The components are not even 5-6 months old and about a month ago the computer started shutting off and immediately restarting. Sometimes it happens every 5-10 minutes, ever couple hours, or it will go a couple days without happening. I had a GPU (GTX 750 ti) and was gaming, usually Skyrim. My PC never crashed while playing, but out of fear the GPU was the problem I took it out but the problem persists. It usually just restarts while browsing the internet, watching netflix, typing documents, and sometimes it happens with no programs running.

There is no BSOD, and the only thing that shows up in the Event Viewer thing is the typical Kernal Power notification that states the PC shut down improperly, nothing else. Also interestingly, no dump files are created by the random shutdowns.

The most obvious causes I could think of were overheating, a faulty power supply, or faulty ram. I have a large case with a lot of room and organized cables, and several fans. The heatsink for the cpu is a Noctua DH15. I downloaded a program called Core Temp and my cpu idles at 30-40 when it shuts off, so I don't believe the CPU is overheating. Obviously not the graphics card as I took it out. I used that program (memtest?) to test my ram. It ran for a couple hours maybe and found no errors after 3 passes. I also ran that program that scans hard drives for errors that comes with windows 10 and both my drives passed.

I was convinced it was the power supply, so I used a multimeter but found out that my voltages are fine and work as intended, all while doing that paperclip test. I also have my PC plugged into a power strip. Both the power strip and wall outlets were tested by a multimeter, and passed.

I'm out of ideas. Any help or advice is appreciated.

Although you listed for the wrong motherboard (I have the "carbon" version), you were right that my BIOS wasn't updated. Thank you.

Sadly I won't know for sure if that fixed the problem until the PC does or doesn't restart which could be minutes, hours or days. Just in case updating my motherboard's bios doesn't work, I'm still open for other suggestions and advice.
