That's an FM2+ motherboard, with an available PCIe x16 2.0 slot.

It certainly should work - assuming the PSU is sufficient (but it does use a standard 4pin EPS + 24pin ATX so a PSU replacement is easy enough).

That being said, even the strongest FM2+ CPU (and Athlon x4 860K or 880K IIRC) is going to hold back a 970 more often than not - and that board isn't going to let you OC the CPU.
I'd look to a more reasonable pairing.... IMO, I wouldn't go stronger than a 960/1050 (1050TI at a stretch) or 270x/RX460/560 or maybe an R9 280 at the strongest.
