Will a 3570k bottleneck a GTX 1070? (PC Upgrade)

Hi guys,

I'm looking to upgrade my gaming pc... and since I am not very computer savvy I thought I'd ask what is best to upgrade. Here are my current specs:

- CPU: Intel i5 3570k
- GPU: GTX 760
- RAM: 2x4GB Kingston HyperX 1600Mhz
- PSU: Corsair TX650
- Motherboard: ASRock z77 Extreme4
- Some super crap water cooling I think from Coolermaster
**Nothing is overclocked atm**

I definitely want to upgrade the GPU, but don't know whether to fork out more money and go to a 1070 or not? Maybe a 1060 will do just fine? (or a Ti version) Does my CPU bottleneck these cards? Should I upgrade that to a 3770k as well? (to avoid having to get a new motherboard) Or should I just try and overclock my 3570k? I want to save as much money as I can, but also don't want to cheap out on stuff that will be obsolete in a few years.

Thanks, Lucas

I'd overclock that 3570K to around 4.2ghz if possible, as for the GPU upgrade it really depends on your monitor resolution/refresh rate. For 1080P/60hz then the 1060 6gb, 1080P/144hz+ I'd go 1070. If your resolution is above 1080P (ultrawide or 1440P) I'd go 1070.
