A friend bought the ASrock H110 Pro BTC+ and the bios installation disc that came with the Mobo, claims it isnt compatable with his Mobo. Any suggestions? Does this kind of thing happen often?

not sure what the issue is? you say it's a mobo installation problem but are asking about a software disc?
In regards to the disc, it is useless. just go on line and download all the latest drivers from the motherboard manufacturers website for that motherboard.

In regards to installation of a motherboard, in what way are you using the word installation? are you talking about the installation of the software from the disc? if so, refer to my above solution. If you are referring to the physical installation of a motherboard into a case and plugging in of other hardware to the motherboard then we need more information.

Okay I was very vague and I apologize. He cant load anything to his computer period. Cant load windows, cant load anything for mobo via the disc it came with. He cant download said things without having an OS on his pc.

Ok, So he built the pc himself I assume. Has he installed an OS to the hard drive? Is this was a motherboard upgrade then I assume he made sure he had the right cpu to go with it. The software disc that comes with the motherboard only contains driver installers which need to be run inside of Windows. Which is why I say it's useless because they are almost always out of date by the time someone gets the motherboard which is why I say to just get them from the website.

But yeah, if this is a fresh build he needs to install the OS to the hard drive. If this is an upgrade or a new build and he is pulling the hard drive over from a previous system unless he had a license key for Windows that allows the changing out of hardware like the mobo then he still needs to do a fresh install of Windows. In the instance that this is a fresh build then go ahead with a clean install. Of this hard drive already has an OS with important files on it be sure to not delete the partition and simply install over it during install process so that it'll take all the files from the old installation and put them into a folder called Windows.old

If he doesn't have an installation disc or flash drive already he can make one using the Windows media creation tool which can be downloaded for free from Microsoft and use a flash drive of at least 8GB in size to make one. He of course would need to use another PC that's either his or a friend's in order to do this.
