I had a non k i5 2500.
Before i didnt know stock cooler is badly mounted, gamed for 2 years, no throttle , idle at 80c.

Now Playing with the stock cooler.cinebenching.
At 95c still no throttle

What do you think of the cpu after sandy bridge?

95c is really pushing the thermal limit on that cpu. As for after sandy? Things got faster so yeah that happend.

You are right on the edge and it will probably end up throttling as the paste degrades. You CPU is also going to have a way shorter life if you idle at 80C and hit 95C under load every time. You should spend $20 and get something better than the stock cooler.
