No power. Not dead PSU.

Hi everyone.

I have encountered a problem that I 've never seen before. After a thunder in my village a computer of mine (I've got 3), despite being turned off at the time of this unfortunate event, never turned on again. I said Ok the psu might be dead. I did the pin test and the psu worked. Of course that does not prove that the psu is working properly, so I used another psu that I am sure that works (because it's on the pc I am writing these lines).

So no problem with the psu...

The problem is that when I connect any of the these psus and press the power button nothing at all happens. That's why I guessed that the motherboard is fried...

What else I have cheked:
- I tried to turn the pc on using a screwdriver to short the pins in order to exclude possible button damage
- I unplugged hard disks and used every combination of memory modules.
- I even changed the CPU because I have a twin one...
- No damage to router or any telephone device, or hi-fi system due to the thunder.
- No sign of burnig on any of the pc parts (no smell either)

But for this pc NO POWER AT ALL!
So the question is...
Should I be absolutely sure that the motherboard is damaged?
And if anyone is kind enough to inform me why this happened would be highly appreciated.
