This is the current pc that I use. A friend of mine recommended me switch my graphics card to a gtx 1080 ti, but since I am new to upgrading a computer I didn't know what else I should change. He told me to also switch out the power supply to this one ( https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-Modular-Warranty-Supply-210-GQ-0650-V1/dp/B017HA3SQ8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1529460814&sr=8-1&keywords=evga+650+gq%2C+80%2B+gold+650w )

Is this all i would need to change?

No, don't buy that one.

You really need to get a better unit than that if you are going to get a GTX 1080Ti.

One of these ideally.

Seasonic Focus Plus 650W
EVGA G2 or G3 650W
Corsair RMX 650W

thank you for the suggestion is that all that I would need to change? also what 1080Ti would you recommend as I know there are different ones out there

What graphics card do you have now and how much room do you have in the case?

It matters because the 3X fan versions are longer than the 2X fan versions.

An actual picture of inside the case would be good.

Currently I have a MSI GTX 1060 3GB. There is plenty of room in the section of the case that holds the graphics card my current card doesn't take up any room.

They all will perform about the same so pick the one you like, stay away from the blower fan versions however.

Asus or EVGA would be my recommendations.

What monitor are you using? A 1080ti is a beast of a card, really designed for 1440p/144Hz or 4k gaming. If you are using a standard 1080p/60Hz monitor a 1080ti is so far overkill you are wasting money. At most a 1070ti is good. Your pc shows an i5 8 series and thats gonna hurt at 1440p/144Hz, it'll do better at 4k.

It's always nice to be able to upgrade, but having a justifiable reason to spend $1000 on a gpu and psu is usually a prerequisite.

That's a 4K Monitor, no need to upgrade that.

Ok, your buddie was correct. To do justice to that monitor you need a 1080ti.

Cards are cards. A 1080ti is a 1080ti, no matter what brand or level of performance, they'll all perform just as a 1080ti should. Higher clocks are nice to have, they'll provide a few extra fps, a little extra horsepower under heavier loads, but clocks alone are not a reason to get any particular card over another. Cooling design is very important too. There's 2x types in the bigger cards, axial and blower. With your case design airflow is an important factor, it's not standard airflow. So you'll have to access just where all the heat given off from the gpu is going to go. An axial design is going to dump all its heat into the case, where it usually goes to the top and out the exhaust fans. Blower styles suck given air in one end and then dump it outside the case, so case airflow isn't as important as axial designs.

So before getting hopes up on one card over another, figure out just what you need first.
