Hello guys. I have this PC already running:
Ryzen 5 1400 not oc
MSI a320m pro vh plus
2x4 HyperX ddr4 2400mhz
EVGA 500w white 80plus

That psu would be enough for an EVGA GTX 970 SSC?

Solution
Your PSU wattage is more than enough to power your system and your GTX 970 (estimated power usage with GPU/CPU at max load around 350 watt with a recommended wattage rounded up to 450)
But your PSU is known to be of lower tier of EVGA (although reputable brand), best is to have it replaced with a better quality PSU such as Seasonic FOCUS series SSR-450FM 450W 80 + Gold Power Supply, Semi-Modular = $60 >> https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16817151204, or go for a more system upgrade-friendly 550 watt of the same line ($70 shipped) > https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16817151203.
