I've got an issue with my CPU/cooling

Hey guys,

My fans are on max whenever I turn on my PC and the CPU doesn't seem to be cooling - haven't had an issue until today. I ran an Intel diagnostic test to confirm the issue (it immediately failed): https://puu.sh/AINT7/18202993b2.TXT - what's the first thing I should try and do to fix this?
Thanks!

Please download and install HWMONITOR ( https://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/hwmonitor_1.35.exe) and upload captures of it showing CPU and graphics temps, clocks, usage and fans speed, also motherboard voltage and temps, basically all hwmonitor window.
- Did you recently re-installed your processor or put in new CPU cooler?
- Keep case side panel open and check CPU cooler and GPU fans are running
- Use your motherboard and GPU software (or MSI afterburner ) to adjust CPU/GPU fan curves so their speed increase with increased temps, and check visually fans .

Thanks for your advice, here's my results from hwmonitor: https://puu.sh/AIQZN/09e6689c25.txt (my PC becomes unusable after a couple of minutes) so I had to grab the results quick. I also grabbed images:

- I haven't done anything to my CPU/cooler - the issue seems to have come out of nowhere.
- The cooler fans all seem to be functioning (I can feel cold air around them)
- Sorry I'm not sure what you're asking with your last point?

I also tried moving the power source for the CPU water-cooler to another sysfan port on my motherboard but it hasn't made a difference. Just in case it helps I took a picture:

Thanks again!

I no longer have the box unfortunately so all I know is that it's a Cool Master - I took a picture of it which I posted in my last message though

- That's probably a cooler master water cooler .
- Your CPU usage is almost maxed out, and it's temperature is in the 90 ies already at boot (maybe a malware) : do you have a software (either from water cooler manufacturer or from gigabyte motherboard) to control CPU (radiator) fan speed? it's running at only 500 RPM.
- Can you boot in Bios, then ins safe mode and compare your processor temps?
- What's your Gigabyte motherboard model
- What version of windows are you using?

- Your case fans (3) not spinning per Hwmonitor.
- GPU looks good (has feature to stop fans a lower temps)

- Try not to run your system for prolonged period of time until you figure out how to increase your Radiator fan speed,
- I strongly advise adding a second Fan to the water cooler radiator in push (pushing air through radiator) and making sure the second fan is actually exhausting air out of the case at least temporarily (I would run them both fans at 100% speed temporarily straight from a molex or sata power adapter because you risking to damage the pump and the processor with the extreme temps)

- Yep it's a Cooler Master
- I have Malwarebytes actively running at all times (on top of Windows defender) and run regular scans so I'd hope not. I'm having problems getting the system to do anything due to this issue so am unable to try a fan controller - can I do it through the BIOS?
- I get the same result in safe mode
- Gigabyte Z77-D3H - BIOS version = F23b
- Windows 10 64bit
- I might try just replacing the water cooler if you think that's the issue

Thanks again for your assistance :)

You are very welcome.
I would first make sure the radiator fan is pulling air from radiator and exhausting it out of the case, then add a push fan (double check air flow orientation) that pushes air into radiator and attach them both to motherboard fan header marked " CPU_FAN" through a " Y" splitter/ joiner cable
Eventually re-apply a fresh thermal paste on CPU (later on)

CPU and SYSTem fans settings in bios.
