I'm building a new computer and before i order my processor i was wondering if the Ryzen 2600 was powerful enough to pair with the 1070ti. I'm more of a fan of AMD but if there is a intel processor that is more powerful and still within my budget i'll be willing to switch. i'd rather keep the build under $1300 if possible.

Also if you want to give any advice towards my build i'd appreciate it.

Solution
Yes, the 2600 is definitely powerful enough to pair with the 1070ti. It is one of the better CPUs in the world. You need faster RAM. Ryzen scales well with faster RAM and 2133mhz will give you performance loss. I would look for 3200mhz. I would also get a x470 board. You will need a first generation Ryzen CPU to update the b350 board to work with the 2600. Also, the x470 has better memory support and memory speed. It will be a lot easier to get the memory running at 3200mhz on a x470 board than a b350. I also upgraded to a better quality PSU.

Solution
Looked at a few comparisons and it seems that an i5-8400 is very slightly faster on average for only games. However, if you overclock the r5-2600 and give it some faster memory, the Ryzen will do better. The i5-8400 is very slightly cheaper I think but it cannot be overclocked. A i5-8600k is without doubt faster and can overclock, but is significantly more expensive (about 50$ more).

Overall I think the Ryzen 2600 is a great pick and will not bottleneck your 1070ti at all. The only thing I would watch out for is RAM compatibility. It is very much improved in the Ryzen + compared to Ryzen, but you should still try to go for some higher clocked, QVL listed ram. Not that it won't work with what you have now, it just might be a tad better with the right RAM.

I was looking at that but even though the box can with a ryzen 2000 ready sticker people were reporting the motherboards still not booting with the CPU.
