Hi, so a few years back i had a good friend of mine come over and built me a pc, 450w, ASRock A785GM-LE motherboard, 8ddr4 ram, and a i3 530, then i installed a gtx 1050 2gb then realized that my pc is bottlenecking, now am trying to upgrade my cpu but as i was searching for compatible cpus for my motherboard the i3 530 wasnt part of the list and when i asked the friend of mine if a i3-4170 would work he said it wouldn't and i didnt want to bother him since he does have quite alot to do so i came here to ask for help, what cpu can my motherboard (Unika UH55GT) support that at the same time will help reduce bottlenecking with my gpu (gtx 1050) and if possible i would prefer intel over amd, Thanks in advance!

Solution
There's a whole slew of 1st Gen Core processors for that socket, of which the i5-760 is one. Whether or not they will all be recognized by the motherboard BIOS is unknown. If you want to take a chance and can get a refund if it doesn't work, is up to you.

Any chance that PC was built for you in one of the Pacific Rim countries? That is not a common motherboard at all.

None of those. That is not an Intel socketed board. You need an AMD CPU for the AM3 socket. Here is the CPU support list for that board. Unfortunately, those CPUs are all discontinued now and obsolete. So most likely, you'll be looking on the used market.

It would be nice to know exactly which CPU you have now, tho. Control Panel/System will tell you.

that is whats confusing me, because right now i have a Intel I3 530 on it @_@, and my system is working fine if you dont count the bottlenecking, (thanks for replying so soon btw)

do you guys think a i5-760 would be okay? or maybe there is a better one

That makes more sense! The Unika UH55GT motherboard is not one that I can find a CPU support list for, unfortunately. The few websites I find are mostly in one of the Asian scripts, and I don't read any of those.
The i5-760 is the right line of CPUs for that chipset and socket, but whether or not the board will recognize the CPU will depend on which BIOS version it has. Although I suspect it will be fine.
