I have a Dvi monitor without an hdmi cable built in it and want to plug in my xbox one to it, so i got the proper converter that I have seen people using in other forums and plugged my xbox one into the monitor with it. The xbox shows up, but the quality is 640x480 and It is not able to change to a higher resolution. I have changed the colors, switched the connection settings to dvi on the xbox, and have tried to change the color depth, but nothing changed. The converter is using Dvi-d and the resolution still doesn't work. I have also tried this on another monitor of mine that has a dvi input, but I got the exact same result. I also know that it is not the monitor or the converter because I've used the converter with my pc and It works in the correct resolution. My monitor is the HP L1950g that can have the resolution 1280x1024. my other monitor is the Gateway FPD1976W that can run the resolution 1440x900. I would be super happy if anyone would be able to help / fix this problem. Please help me, you would be the greatest person on the planet until the end of the world.
