A question about static public IP address

If I were to change the settings circled in red in my router would I have a static IP address? Or when my ISP changes my IP would my internet simply fail to function because the router would hold a false IP?

Solution

Why don't you contact your ISP about getting a static IP?

Otherwise it will fail, at some point as you suggested.
