Hi.

I think 16Gb would be overkill for my build but 8Gb not enough. If I want to fit 12Gb, can I use 8Gb plus 4Gb, or does it have to be 3 x 4Gb?

Either way, which ram slots would I use (on AM4 motherboard with 4 slots)?

Thanks

Solution
1. Best option is to have 8GB+8GB (from kit).
2. Less desirable - 4GB+4GB+2GB+2GB.
3. Least desirable - any other config.

Options #1,#2 preserve dual channel mode.
With option #2 you get slight loss of performance and may encounter ram compatibility problems.
With option #3 you loose dual channel mode, get slight loss of performance and may get ram compatibility problems.
