I’m upgrading from my 16gb 2133mhz Corsair Vengeance to 16gb 3200mhz Corsair Dominator Platinum, and need some advice on running it with my MOBO.

I’ve got the Gigabyte GA Z170X Gaming 3, which supports this RAM at this speed, but only overclocked, so my question is, how do I go about getting the full 3200mhz out of this memory over the default 2133mhz? Is it as simple as just enabling XMP? Or is there more to it than that? Thanks in advance!

Solution
Yes, it should be as simple as enabling XMP.

In some instances, you may need to manually enter the XMP timings.... but with an Intel chip/board, XMP usually just "works"
