A home router that can set quota for each device?

Can you recommend a router that enables me to set a max number of gigabytes a device can use on my home network in month. I want better control over my internet usage and block annoying family members who consume most od the monthly quota on streaming. The devices can be mobiles, desktops or laptops.
Thanks

The large problem with this is a router has no place to store this type of information on a long term basis. This is more a feature you would see on a appliance based firewall that has hard drives in it.

The only third party firmware image that I know that has that feature is called gargoyle. It has been quite some time since I even looked at it so I do not know what routers they support anymore.

You may be bettered off using a small dual nic pc and load one of the free firewall images on it. Pfsense is one that I think has quotas but since it is linux based it can be added if it does not. It should be possible to limit by userid rather than just device. This prevents the users who think they can outsmart you by changing the mac address since the limits are based on a person no matter what device they use.

The pfsense means that i'll have to let the PC work 24/7 otherwise the usage tracking won't work right ?
I'd like to have one box that wil be both home modem and supports quotas per device.
Thank you very much for help

That is your problem you have to have a device on 24x7. You will not find your more common router that can do what you want because few people need it and it would increase the price of the routers. You of course can find many boxes where someone is selling you a dual nic pc that they loaded something like pfsense on and can charge you a fortune because people do not know they can build these themselves.

I guess I'm only left with the pfsense solution, I'm only surprised that modern home routers don't support a basic feature as simple as tracking each device usage !

You might "like to have" such a thing, but as @bill001g says, they don't exist. I'd like to have a unicorn, but I don't think I will ever get one of those either. An embedded motherboard with dual NICs is your lowest power option. Something like this -- https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813153317&ignorebbr=1
