Hello, lately my PC has been randomly shutting itself down and then turning on only to display a black screen (forcing me to restart it again), this problem has been followed by random freezes while starting up or just being in the desktop. The problem usually happens 2 or 4 for times per day (sometimes more, sometimes less) and while it happens randomly playing some games will always trigger the problem once or twice, and in one occasion i got a BSOD displaying IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Here are my specs:
CPU: AMD FX-8350
PSU: Cougar CMX 700W
Motherboard : Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. 970A-UD3P
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1866

Thanks in advance.

PD: I havent made any hardware changes lately and also, sometimes it can take a couple of restarts for the system to boot properly after a random shutdown.

The scan actually found damaged files, so im going to test things a little to see if that was the actual cause of the problem

If the problem persists, your computer could be overheating. Make sure your temps are fine for your GPU and your CPU. Make sure the inside of the case is free of dust. Usually, restarts that occur when starting Windows are due to corrupted files in Windows, out of date drivers, or an old version of Windows (update Windows to latest version). However, if this doesn't fix the issue, it is a tell tale sign of a more serious condition.

The system did crash while running memtest (cant say for sure if it crashed because of memtest), also i noticed something strange with the ram, sometimes the systems allocates 4 gb for hardware while other times it allocates ony 32mb. I havent had any shutdowns while it allocates 4 gb, so they seem to only happen when the system allocates 32mb. Not sure what to make out of this info

It happened again so im guessing it is either the ram or the psu, by the way what are normals temperatures for the CPU and GPU and how can I check them.

It was the ram slots, i moved my ram to my other slots the problem disappeared.
