Sudden high CPU usage while gaming

Hello community!

This morning I noticed some unusual behavior from my PC, my CPU usage skyrockets to 100% when I play games. (Overwatch, LoL, the witcher 3 and Jurassic world Evolution)

I played these games yesterday evening and beside my GPU taking 100%, as it should (or so I've been told) the CPU usage remained around 40-60%.

Now when I opened for example Jurassic world evolution the CPU suddenly takes 100% usage, I experience no lag but it doesn't sit well with me so I shut down the game completely.
I thought this was strange and noticed that Microsoft compatibility telemetry (which I only ever noticed now..) took a lot of CPU besides the game I was playing. So I disabled that, rebooted and thought that the problem would be fixed. It hasn't.

When I now play any game ..well : https://gyazo.com/d4d9f20f9b39c25230944f912161beea

It worries me and I'm afraid to even play a game now.
I have no idea what started this problem, I haven't done anything different than what I did a few weeks ago and as far as I know windows didn't update either.

My specs:

Intel Core i5 4690K @ 3.5 GHZ
16 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980
Win 10 64 bit

If more info is needed by all means let me know!

It's during gameplay, during a loading screen it stays around 30-45% as soon as the loading screen ends it skyrockets though..

I play Jurassic world Evo on the highest settings, witcher medium, overwatch on highest settings too, league as well.

I have tried lowering the settings for a couple games and the problem still persists.

I appreciate you trying to help me btw!

No problem. Always remember these rules:
1. Higher settings and resolutions transfer load to GPU, while lower settings and resolutions transfer load to CPU.
2. Just like the GPU, running the CPU at max speed won't hurt it, as long as it's temperatures are not too high.

Do These:
- Download RealTemp and report back your CPU temperature while running Jurassic World.
- Go into Power Options, Select High Performance. This should allow the "hidden" settings to disable clock limiters. If your CPU is performing faster, it will not sit at 100% all the time, well, you can only hope. Again if it does, it won't hurt it if it's not too hot.

I tried setting the power options to high performance but I don't notice any difference. As for the temperatures from RealTemp: https://gyazo.com/2529dba081c9ef4d18f4820e9896c012

It stays mostly around 55 and right now as I'm typing this it came close to 60. Which is an okay temperature, but I'm only running the game for 15 minutes. I don't have enough knowledge if this temp is too high for 15 minutes of gameplay. CPU stays the same.

Those temps are perfect. There are no issues you should be worried about at all. As long as those temps stay under 80 C, you have nothing to worry about.
