I was thinking of getting quadro P4000 for my 3d modeling and designing purposes and gtx 1070ti for casual gaming and using alienware ultrawide for 1070ti and cintiq pro 32inch for quadro p4000 and Asus pro art monitors i just wanted would this work.

Solution
No. The CPU will send the graphics data to the first GPU in order. Besides... your 1070ti is WAAAYYYY more powerful than your Quadro P4000.

EDIT: removed link and removed dumb comment.

I think that would work. I think games will by default run on whichever display you've designated your primary display, but I think you ought to be able to choose which display to run your modeling software on.

What would be the "first GPU in order"? Also, the 1070 Ti is maybe 50% more powerful (in terms of FLOPS), not 3 or 4 times.

You can't run 2 separate graphics cards off of one motherboard with the intention of using one *sometimes* and the other *sometimes*. That's not how that works. The CPU will only send graphics data to one PCI slot (this doesn't account for SLI/Crossfire, as I've never used the tech and don't know how it works). Trying to use 2 different, independent graphics card would be no different than using the 1070ti and the integrated GPU.. It doesn't work. I realized I built the "3 or 4 times" comment based on a comparison between a 1070ti and a Quadro 4000. Honest mistake, so I'll edit that link out as well as change the numbers.

Umm, no. I have used multiple different discrete GPUs in my computer at the same time, worked fine. I am currently utilizing my iGPU with a dGPU installed and running, again it works fine. I can get a display from either or both. If you connect a monitor to the outputs of one GPU, then that GPU is being used to render the image for that monitor. So if you connect two displays to two different GPUs...

Then sure, you can do it, but you're not benefitting from using 2 separate, individual cards not in tandem (not using SLI/Crossfire). In this instance, you're better off just using the 1070ti full time, as it is a significantly stronger gpu in general.

So, I know for a fact that you CAN use two different GPU's on the SAME mobo at the same time because, that's how my rig is setup. I have a 1080 for display and a 980ti as GPU accelerator. However, the issue that I can't truly speak on is the use of quadro and geforce without getting conflicting driver issues. I do know for fact that Puget Systems sells workstations with Quadro and Geforce Accelerators and I believe they use the Quadro drivers. Which would make sense as the Geforce cards are just there for GPU rendering. Additionally I would just plug all your devices into the Quadro as it can handle all of the displays.

If you're wanting to game too, I'd consider building a separate pc for gaming. Trying to do both on one PC is a compromise on both ends. Just my 2 cents.
