Hi everyone, Here is my problem:

I got an anomaly with my ram because it is in dual and count 4gb in the system, I saw it because it is crashing my games.

Here I added a picture describing the system problem the "task manager" is showing the memory(Mémoire) at 58% of uses and most of it is used by "destiny 2" like if I had only 4GB but CPU-Z shows it has 8Gb and in dual channel.

Can you help me?

Thank you

David

1 GB is in use by the system, 1.9 GB is being used as a cache for the system. This means you are already using about 3GB/8GB before gaming. You can turn off cache by opening file explorer, right click on your hard drive, click on hardware, double click on your hard drive(s) listed, click change settings, click on policies, turn off 'enable cache writing on device', and click ok.

Shouldn't overclock memory, that will cause crashes. If want faster ram need to buy them at those speeds.

What was the reason for overclocking?

It is normal for Windows to use 1.5~2GB memory. That doesn't leave much for games. You'll notice pagefile is quite large. Pagefile is hdd virtual memory. Hdd usage slows performance. 16GB memory upgrade would be ideal.

What gpu do you have? List your other specs.

I can't disable "enable cache writing on device" on "Microsoft Storage Space Device" is this normal?

I do want to upgrade to 16gb but actually I mind about my money because I upgraded my computer of a thousand dollars of hardware this week.

Reason of my overclocking was GTA V wasn't starting at with setting at ULTRA meanwhile on my old Fx-8350 and 16 gb of DDR3 I could play without SLI.

My rig:

CPU :Ryzen 1200 3.1 GHZ
Ram : 2x Ballistix Sport 4gb ddr4 2400 mhz now set at 3066 mhz and 1.325 volt.
GPU : 2x MSI ARMOR GEFORCE GTX 1070 8G OC
Motherboard : ASROCK X370 KILLER SLI
PSU: EVGA 1050W GOLD

Strange, so overclocking ram helped with maintaining ultra settings in Gta5?

I would have thought thats more to do with software changing things. Software like Geforce Experience in which case if GE is being used, remove it.

GE can meddle with Sli settings. I dont believe memory speed has anything to do with graphics settings sticking in games. But if it worked for you there may be another explanation.

Memory becomes unstable if you overclock them over their rated speeds. Your crashings will be the result of memory instability rather than not enough. System wont crash when theres a pagefile.

Also disabling write cache on hdds can lead to data loss. Since your pc is crasing, data loss will happen and a chance of corruption. So be careful, return your memory back default speeds if pc is still crashing.

Gta 5 can create huge pagefiles with 8GB ram using gpus with 4GB or more vram. 16GB ram is recommended. Just something to be aware of.

I got a question if the ram are at 1529 mhz on dual channel in CPU-Z meanwhile the bios setting is on 3066mhz.

It is showing 1529 mhz meanwhile my stick are 2400 mhz but I got a bios setting of 3066 mhz in dual channel.
Do I really go higher than the frequency for a single stick?
