Hello everyone,

I need a cheap cell phone that can take and make calls. It doesn't need to do anything but receive and make calls. I need a minute card that is compatible with it.

It may sound sill that I don't know what I'm doing, but I've never had any sort of cell phone in my life so I don't know what I'm looking for and I need help.

I don't know much about the best deals, but if you need it quickly I found this at Walmart, you could walk in, buy one, have them sell you a minute card and have it setup in under an hour and if something goes wrong, you can go back to get help.

Other options for minute phones can be cheaper but those require shipping times, and so much hassle if something goes wrong. Flip phones also last forever, I still have mine from 10+ years ago and the battery is still good. Smart phones hold a charge for weeks but flip phones can hold one for months.

Yes, but...

You have to sniff around within the TracFone world to find a better deal.
That minutes card you linked is only 30 days for $25.

Some of the phones automatically give you triple minutes.
And you can get a "400 minutes/1 year" card for ~$100.
Giving you 1200 minutes and a year access, instead of $25/month.

For instance:
This phone - $50
https://www.amazon.com/Alcatel-OneTouch-Android-Prepaid-Tracfone/dp/B00PHRXSCS

And this minutes - $114
https://www.amazon.com/Tracfone-Year-Service-400-Minutes/dp/B002ZCW91Y
400 x 3 = 1200

So, the phone and a years access for $165.
Just have to balance your upfront cost vs monthly.

Next month, when you purchase another minutes card, whatever is unused carrys over and adds to that new one.
The "30 days" is 30 days of access.

I buy my TracFone minutes a year at a time. I'm carrying over minutes from 3 years ago.
