xbox overheating issue

A few things might help, some are easy, some are hard and require tools and taking it apart, try the ones your comfortable with. Some help a lot, other help very little.
1. Get some canned air and blow out the ports and vents. Place it with vents pointing up, heat rises.
2. Make sure to put the box in an open space with ventilation and raise it up with shims under the feet only.
3.Get a fan blowing at it, or get an add-on fan from NYKO or other brand.
4. When playing games, download them to the HDD so they can be read off the drive.
5. Open case and switch HDD to SSD, they generate less heat. (Not all drives work, google this mod.) *voids warranty*
6. Take case off and put new thermal paste on the heatsink. *voids warranty*
