So I purchased a MSI B350M Pro VD and a Ryzen 5 2400G processor to upgrade my machine. At first I got black screen with no signal detected and the ez debug light for cpu was lit up. I found out about needing to upgrade my bios for these to work together so I got an AMD A6-9500 processor to slot in to do the update. Now I still get black screen no signal found and the ez debug light on the mobo is showing boot error. I am now $400 into a $200 upgrade and still nothing works! System is:

MSI B350M PRO-VD Plus Motherboard
Ryzen 5 2400g CPU (goal)
AMD A6-9500 CPU (for bios update)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 GPU
Patriot Viper dual channel 8gb DDR4 PC4-21300 2666MHz RAM

I’m using a 450 watt psu, which I know is a bit low but should be enough to boot and update bios.
I purchased the AMD cpu because it is the same one they send in their boot kit. Help me Tomshardware, you’re my only hope!

No, I am upgrading from a 7 year old computer to these components. The GPU and psu work in the old computer. I have not gotten either the a6 or the ryzen 5 to work with the b350m since purchase, and neither is compatible with my old mobo. I have not updated bios since the a6 isnt booting either.

In that case, I would take it apart and breadboard the system outside the case. Set the board on an insulated surface with just A6 CPU/cooler, PSU, monitor to iGPU. Start by momentarily shorting the two pins that the FP pwr button would connect to. If no display, I'd have to consider the board being defective.
