So I recently acquired a used SilentPro 850W modular power supply for free, but it didn't come with all the cables. I have everything I need except a sata cable, so it's pretty much unusable. I was thinking of buying a PCIe to sata converter, but I'm having some trouble finding a female sata connector. I found this on ebay, but it's for the 1200W psu:

Should I go ahead and get this connector (not from aliexpress, from eBay)? Thank you for any responses

No. Modular PSU do not use standardized connectors. Although in may fit your PSU. It may supply the wrong voltage to the connectors. Destroying any attached devices. Only get modular connectors designed for your specific make and model. Even the same manufacturer may use different pinouts on different models.

The only way to safely use another modular connector in your PSU is if you understand electrical well enough to test the voltages and rewire it correctly if need be.

If you want guaranteed compatibility. You'd contact Cooler Master sales or support. They might just send you one or send one for cheap.

The next best would be through a company which makes custom cables. Just be sure you choose one for your model. Just note that their could be problems. modDIY sells the parts to make your own cables. They also have custom made kits. The problem is unless you know how to test voltages to make sure they got it right. They could be wired wrong and you wouldn't know until you smell your HDD/SSD frying.

Testing isn't that difficult. A digital multimeter is a handy tool to have and learn how to use. There are simpler and cheaper PSU testers. They do read voltages fines. I've never tested if they will detect a miswired connector.
