GTX 1070 Watercooling Question

So... I know i wont get any more performance..

But now with the harsh summer temps i have noticed that the gpu has a tendency to become a bit unstable.. Max fans.. its in the 60s... after a temp i might notice an artifact or rarely a crash. I really dont want to lower my oc since is low enough already. max voltage at 2000mhz or 2012.

So I d like to know how much better it would be in terms of temps with a watercooler for example the nzxt g10 combined with a corsair H45. Will i need a VRM solution too? I dont want to remove the gpu's backplate..

Maybe if you know the reduction too.. Like -10c or -20 etc.

The easiest option would be to buy a hybrid cooler. They are pretty easy to install and not too expensive. I have a hybrid cooler on my 1080ti and my temps never go above 50C. Your card will be significantly cooler. The water block is on the chip, but there is also a turbine fan that keeps the VRMs cool. So it really does it all.

Here is a hybrid cooler from EVGA that fits several models of the 1070.

With that GPU you will need to go with the g10 and h45. The g10 will keep the VRM's cool by air and that will be fine. You will get very similar temps as the EVGA hybrid cooler because they are essentially the same. The EVGO cooler just comes with a different shroud.

Is it plug and play?

I have never used the NZXT g10 or the HG10. So I can speak for the install or compatibility. I would verify that they will work. Looking at the g10 website, it does not mention the 1070, but it does mention the 1080. As for cooling, the cards are identical. But it does say they are designed for the reference board layout. I would do a little research to see if they will work. I am in the US and not familiar with KFA2 1070. I did a quick search and did not see anything, but that does not mean its not compatible.

As far as the install, it is not too bad. I have changed several cards to liquid cooling and it takes about an hour. Just taking apart the air cooler is the hardest part. Once you get it installed it will run just fine.

I mean I looked it up and people needed to do modifications to properly fit the HG10 to the 1070 thats why I said that
