CPU fan error due to water cooling

Hi, i just assembled my new pc a few days ago and decided to boot today however when i tried to boot for the first time, it says CPU fan error. i know i didnt connect any fans directly via the "CPU fan" on the motherboard, but i still connected via the water cooling system (H100i v2) which it provides 4 pin connectors to the fan, then theres a plug from water cooling to the USB 2.0. how do i let the computer know i connected the fans in an alternative way instead of not having any fans (what the error message suppose to do)? The fan cables are not long enough to plug it to the "CPU fan" connectors directly because i accidentally bought a case that doesn't have holes or anything to mount my water cooling on top so i decided to mount it to the front case fans.

What should I do to let the computer know i pluged it that way or I did something wrong or what's the solution?

Thankyou

You have done the connections wrong, and may be confused about what goes where. With the H100i V2 system, there are two connections to be made from the PUMP unit on the CPU. One is a cable ending in a female 3-pin fan connector that MUST be plugged into the mobo CPU_FAN header. This has two functions: it picks up power for the pump and radiator fans, and it sends back to that header the pump speed signal. You did not do this, so the CPU_FAN header is getting no "cooling fan speed" signal and sending you a severe warning. It MAY refuse to let you start up with "no CPU cooling". So, change that connection. Secondly, you have a cable that plugs into a socket on the side of the pump and connects to a mobo USB2 header. This is how the Corsair Link software utility will communicate with the pump and exercise control of this cooling system. Now, that software is not operating at your first start-up so the system will run in a default mode for good cooling until Link is established and ready to control. Lastly, there two FANS on the radiator do NOT plug into mobo headers, so your worry about location may be misplaced. Those two fans are supposed to plug into the connectors on a cable coming out of the pump unit so that it can control those fans' speeds. Now, IF the fan cables cannot reach the cable coming from the pump, you should get two fan extension cables to make them reach.

Once you have those connections made so that everything will start up and run smoothly in the default mode, you must go to the Corsair website and download and install their Corsair Link software. This will take over all control of that H100i V2 system, using the USB link for communication. You use it to examine how it is working and make your own custom adjustments as you wish. Via the cable from pump to CPU_FAN header the PUMP speed will be reported to the mobo. But using Corsair Link you will be able to see that speed PLUS the speeds of the two radiator fans, accessed via Link and the USB connection.
