I am currrently looking to buy a router for my modem to give off the best internet possible for my long range from it. Where the router is situated is a bit tricky. My property has 2 houses on it. about 100 feet (Guestimation: MAX) is the router. It has to travel through that house and mine to get to me. I get a horrible download and a horrible connection to it because of the range. I PC game so this is very inconvenient for me. I've looked into routers such as the NightHawk, I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on what i should purchase before i buy just any high end expensive router.

Do you absolutely want wireless connection between the houses?
Is digging in ethernet cable out of the question?
For wireless connection you'd need directional antennae at both ends and second router, that can work in client mode.

I meant - at both ends: wifi outdoor antenna (preferaby directional) + wifi router.
You place antenna outside of your house on the wall with direct line of sight between them.

You unscrew original small antenna from the router and connect outdoor wifi antenna instead.
Antenna cable is not very long ~100cm. So you'll have to place router nearby.

Depends on router model/configuration.
Some routers may have separate SSIDs for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands.
