I have a Dell Inspiron 3521 and it had been a year since I have used a DVD. But when suddenly I got a serious work on a DVD it errored. I just put in the DVD and wait for some time but nothing was showing up then I opened explorer and tried to open the DVD drive E:\ but nothing showed up for about 5 min and the cursor was loading and loading. I tried to put all the other CDs and DVDs I had but still the same problem. I tried to boot from a cd in bios and it worked really well. So, I thought it is a software related issue so tried it on the web. they told me to delete Intel rapid storage and the DVD driver. So, I went to device manager and tried to uninstall the DVD but whenever I tried to uninstall the device manager got hang. so I tried to delete IRST but still the same, for almost half hour the uninstaller didn't have any progress. so, I tried to go to safe mode but when I was on the lock screen in safe mode, a black screen kept blinking which didn't allow me to put in my password. And now I am here to you. Please help me with a solution.

This is the third thread you've opened with the exact same nature of this thread. Stop creating multiple threads and be patient for an answer.

That being said, seems like your optical drive is damaged. To be specific, it seems like the laser/lens on the optical drive is damaged. If you don't use the optical drive that often, you may want to look into an external/portable USB driven optical drive which you can store away when not in use.

The other part of the issue seems like you're on Windows 10. Is that so?
