Can the m9i work with a delidded i7 8700k and should I liquid metal inside an itx case?

So I'm currently building in itx case (fractal design core 500). I know that cooling could be an issue, so I am getting a bunch of fans and the cryorig m9i for my 8700k. I want to overclock it as much as I can. I know it will get really toasty so I first want to know if its worth delidding and putting in liquid metal and if I should also liquid metal my gpu (gtx 1080, probably zotac mini)

Pick the Cryorig H7. Apart from that, you're overdoing it with the liquid metal and delidding. First get a good cooler and if the thermals leave you expecting, you can look at your case's airflow, then the fans and then your ambient room temperature.
