I own a g1 sniper 3motherboard with an I7-2600k oc to 3.8 ghz
My question is ,are these hardware compatible with an gtx 1070 g1 gaming 8gb rev 2.
I checked the pic express slots but didn’t understand what the different versions mean and so
If someone can help out it’ll be much appreciated
Thank you!!

Solution
in short, it's going to work given that your power supply has the proper current rating on the 12V rail. (you need i think 35A+ on the 12V to properly support i7 CPU and xx70 GPU)

your mobo pcie version is 2.0, and 1070 supports 3.0, they are backward compatible, you loose some bandwidth but it should not impact your usage in any way.

Solution
the interface (data transport) between the graphic card and the cpu is a 16x pcie lane.

maximum data transfer rate for 16x pcie 2.0 is 8 GiB/s and 16 GiB/s for pcie 3.0.

however that's the theoretical maximum bandwidth not the actual bandwidth used.

in reality, 1070 has little difference at 2.0 and 3.0.
