i am looking for a user friendly all in one for the elderly.

background:
my parents barely know how to send an email or search the internet (very barely but they do it)
they are self sufficient 80+ which don't need much help most of the time. but age does bring some problems with it.
both their eye sight are not great. my dad's hand shake all the time sometimes more sometimes less. until now i have come to help them sometimes, with sending fax or mailing a document or printing a document, since i live a few minutes away by car. in a couple of months i'll be moving far and wont be able to help them the same way.

basically looking for a solution.
my thought was maybe an all in one with extra large touch screen or something.
i am trying to think of ideas. something with 2.x" inch is just too small for more then one reason.

Solution
There is no "large print" printer really, the ones with the larger screens just dump more things on the screen not use the same interface but larger.

Are they actually going to be scanning/faxing/copying things? Seems like you just need a good color printer with a large ink capacity like a color laser, if they need color.

yes to send medical documents to their many doctors, receive prescriptions. and even beyond that they copy documents as they are old fashioned and believe in keeping everything in paper (and they are stubborn about that). scanning maybe not so much but fax print copy is a must have.

its not about quantity or quality here. that is not the issue.
because everything is so small for exmple my dad has a hard time pressing the numbers and misses them a lot. after a dozen or two tries (which is way to many tries in my opinion) he sometimes gives up to try again alter on to waits for me to come along.

that can be an option i'll have to think about it for a little. it also might be an alternative for large screen printer... good call.
the main goal is to make them as self sufficient as possible. but you are right that is an option if i can't make the main goal happen.

this however does make me think. maybe use a printer software to send fax or copy and print. i'll have to look for the most minimalist program there is for all 3 though so it would be the most user friendly. so all they have to do to copy is put a paper and press a botton or with fax press a number and then a button all on the pc

Most current printer/scanners have an "app" that does all that directly from the PC.
Scan to email, scan to Fax, etc.
The only part where someone needs to touch the printer is to put the actual paper in. Everything else is done via the PC.

My several year old grumblegrumble HP does. If the grumble scanner actually worked, of course...:fou:

Right...whatever comes with the printer.

How about a magnifier on a clamp they can swivel to the printer controls to see them better? Attach the thing to a printer stand.
