hello,

im planning to buy a Cooler Master ML120R RGB, and this watercooler comes with rgb colloring, that is operated by a little hub that is included. however, you need a SATA cable to power that hub, and the only open SATA connection i have is facing the sidepanel of my pc (long story short: SATA iss facing wrong direction and it cannot be used). Then i googled around, and found out it is possible to buy a adapter that forms a 4-pin molex into a SATA cable, but this cable had one wire less than a normal SATA cable.

so, is it possible to use a 4-pin molex to SATA adapter to plug it into the rgb-hub?

Ye its possible since this device will only us the 5v/12v/ground wire. If this were for an ssd it wouldnt work. But I would warn you that if you give too much load on the molexto sata cable it would burn. Lookup Molex to Sata fire.

ron2456 is right. Only one reassuring comment: the load of the LED's on that system is quite small, so that alone will not overload the SATA cabling. The overload issue would only become a concern if you were to add many other loads on that cable.
