Hello,

So the issue is for a few days now i've been having a problem with my internet connection that is whenever i play games(Lineage 2, Dota 2(those are the ones so far i've managed to "break" my connection with)) and i have something downloading with speeds over 5MB/s i get "No network acsses" and when i run the Windows troubleshoot it just resets the adapter by disabling and enabling it again and it fixes it and it gives me the message "Default gateway not available". My ISP bandwidth which i'm paying for is 94mbps download and 4.5-5mbps upload acoriding to speedtest.

The same thing happens on what seemed regular intervals at first if i'm not downloading anything just playing my game but soon after that it became random'ish sometimes 30min before crash sometimes 2hrs and 30 min you get the picture :D.

Just to clarify all of this is happening only on my wired connection, my WiFi is perfectly fine all the time, and all of this started happening when i updated to Windows 10 Pro 1803 build and thinking it's a problem with windows i reverted to 1709 because i couldn't remember which version i had before that since normally i have my updates disabled and hadn't updated for over 1 year. Also i'm 95% possitive that before that i was running my Windows 7 drivers from Acer website but now with 1709 build it doesn't want to accept them.

I have a coax cable going in to a modem and the modem connected to a router and my PC connected to the router. I've tried all sorts of tinkering with the router but without any luck. I've also tried plugging directly to the modem, same thing.

***How To Ask For Help Regarding Your Connection***
- Provide us with the make and model of your laptop: Acer Aspire V3-571G
- Provide us with the make and model of your router: TP-LINK Model No. TL-WR740N / TL-WR740ND
- Provide us with the make and model of your modem:Cisco EPC3208
- Provide us with the exact specifications of your PC (if applicable) including: CPU I73630QM, GPU Nvidia GT 640M, 8GB RAM, LAN: Broadcom NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet(This is all the info it's giving me unfortunetly)

- Make and model of motherboard: I had tried to find it so i can find out exact model of my Broadcom adapter but i couldn't
- Make and model of power supply: The original charger my laptop came with.
- Make and model of USB or PCI Wifi adapter: Qualcomm Atheros AR5BWB222 Wireless Network Adapter
- Operating system and driver version: Windows 10 Pro N 1709 build.

- You will also need to post your ISP and connection type*. Used to be Blizoo then they became Mtel and now they got bought by A1
- You will also need to post the exact number of devices connected to your router (this includes tablets, smart phones, laptops, and desktop PCs) as some routers can only handle a specific number of devices at a time. 1Laptop, 1phone(at the time of posting this), When my roommate is here there are 2 phone 1 tablet 1laptop and sometimes a 2nd laptop.

***WIRED LAN CONNECTION ONLY***

If you are operating on a wired connection as opposed to wireless these items will also need to be provided:

- Make and model of switches and how many ports are on each switch: Not sure what's the question but my Laptop has 1 WLan port.
- How many PCs and laptops are connected to the network: 1
- Whether or not a NAS (Network Attached Storage) or regular server is connected to the network: I don't know what that even is.
- Whether or not a Wifi router is connected to the network and/or switch: Yes(the TP-Link)
- If you are using the internal LAN connection on your motherboard, a USB dongle, or external PCI card: Internal LAN port.

This is the info i have from Windows Troubleshoot app:

The Solution is my last post because it doesn't let me pick my answer as solution :D

Solution

Then either the LAN card has failed, or there's no way to use it properly in the latest build of Windows 10 because Acer hasn't put out an updated driver.

You can try the drivers Windows 10 Update installed, and try changing different options on the Advanced tab to see if any of them resolve the problem. Tweaking settings on the Power Management tab may help too.
Windows 10 likes to replace working Windows 7/8 drivers with generic Windows 10 drivers which often don't work right (or at all). According to Acer's support site, they only offer Windows 7 and 8 drivers for this particular laptop, and only a Windows 7 LAN driver. Try downloading the LAN drivers and installing them manually.

https://www.acer.com/ac/en/ID/content/support-product/4077

Windows 10 will try to replace it with newer drivers which are probably what are causing your problems. When it does, go into device manager -> network adapters -> right-click your LAN card -> properties -> driver -> Roll Back Driver. That should revert you back to the Win 7 LAN drivers, and I believe Microsoft finally settled on this being the method to prevent Win 10 Update from automatically replacing drivers.

You may also want to check the BIOS updates and see if any of them refer to bug fixes for Win 10 or the LAN card. If so, go ahead and update the BIOS.

When i install the old Win 7x64 drivers i get this message in device manager
"This device cannot start. (Code 10) {Operation Failed} The requested operation was unsuccessful."

On the bios topic honetsly i've not updated my bios since i've bought the laptop 5 years ago because i'm not sure how to do it and i've heard if you mess it up you are in for a treat :D If you have any suggestions on where to look for bios updates and a guide on how to update bios i'd really appreciate it

Ok i managed to fix it.

Incase someone else is having the same issue i will post how i did it :)) So the fix was:
Device manager => The problematic network adapter => update driver => browse computer for drivers => let me pick from a list of available drivers => uncheck the show compatible hardware box => Manufacturer(on the left) was broadcom corporation and on model i just started testing each one till i found 1 that worked :D

Hope this helps someone else with the same or similar problem

OFFTOPIC: if someone knows how to backup allready installed driver to a flash drive i'd rly appreciate it if they shared that knowledge because i forgot which one i installed and i wanna have it for future uses if i ever need it.
