I just got a 1gbps service but i still get a max of 96.56mbps on speedtest.net. Can someone help me get it to 1gbps? I have fiber optics and i use a wireless conection. My equipment is as follows:

Router: https://www.asus.com/Networking/RTAC87U/
Adaptor: https://eu.dlink.com/uk/en/products/dwa-182-wireless-ac1200-dual-band-usb-adapter
Motherboard: https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/H110M-DGS/index.asp

I should also mention that i use the 5GHZ band only on my PC. The other PCs and phones are on the 2.4GHZ band. Could it be something from the mobo that i could change in the bios? On my phone i get similar results(on both bands), however it is not limited to 100mbps. On pc the max it could reach is 100 while on my phone it is 300. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Solution
As suggested, test your speed with a cable.

Your primary issue is probably just poor wireless. That is an old low end wireless USB adapter that was only draft 802.11ac and I would not expect great performance.

At a minimum insure that both the adapter and router wireless are set to AC only (no legacy support that would slow them down even further).

From your link:
OS Support
Windows 8, 7, or XP SP3

Standards
IEEE 802.11ac (Draft)
IEEE 802.11n
IEEE 802.11g
IEEE 802.11a
