Just wanted to know if anyone could advise me on how to overclock my old AMD FX-6300 6 core on a Gigabyte GA-970a-DP3 mobo. I have 8GB RAM, a Samsung 850evo 240GB SSD with Ark: SE and Battlefield 1 on it, using all the space between them, and Windows 10 and other games and stuff on my older 2TB HDD.
Battlefield 1 is often laggy, and Ark is constantly laggy, to the point of sometimes being unplayable. I previously followed this OC guide; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5V-h5oab1E&lc=z22lfr2pgkqcufxob04t1aokgxmia21wx5o1l5vq5fxwrk0h00410.1528623843615659
But after a few weeks, I started getting BSOD when trying to boot, so I set UEFI back to default. But I want to get my system back to the point where I can play my games smoothly, at least until I can afford to upgrade.
Also, I have better CPU cooler than what came with my CPU; I have an Arctic Cooling Alpine 64+

Solution
That motherboard is not great for OCing, and that cooler is not suited for OCing at all. In fact, its arguably worse than the stock cooler since it only dissipates 90w of heat, and at stock the 6300 generates 95w of heat.

My advice, dont bother with the poor thermals and try to hurry on that upgrade.
