Speed locked on windows 10

On my pc my internet speed is 95 mb while on my laptop its close to what im paying for 140 mb and I have a 150 mb connection this started happening lately I dont know what is the cause I reinstalled windows and still the same issue tried messing with the speed and duplex updated drivers some virus scanners and all that but nothing fixed the problem would love to hear if anyone has any solution for this.

If your PC is connected with cable, your network card could be set to (or capable of) 100mbps only.

Always leave your speed and duplex on "auto", if you can not change the speed on the NIC the other end of the cable (your routers) you will have problems, both sides need to be set the same. Have you installed the correct drivers for the NIC in your PC. What make and model of NIC is it??

Make sure you also have the latest motherboard chipset drivers, this includes Lan, USB audio etc. With a fresh reinstall of windows, you are now relying on generic windows drivers and not equipment specific drivers.

If you have replaced the drivers and verified the settings then it is likely a defective cable. Cables will work on some machine but not others. Some machines are just more tolerant of a poor cable. A cable is pretty cheap to try. Make sure you get pure copper cable (no CCA) and avoid any of that flat or thin cable.

After that you do not have much left to try. A defective port in the pc is not really fixable so you don't want it to be that.

Did install the drivers for the motherboard, will try the new cable soon but I had the full speed with this one aswell. And I also took a look at the manual for the motherboard and both orange and green lights are on at the back where the cable is which should mean the speeds can get to 1000 mb.

If anyone is still wondering the cable was the problem although I was getting the full speed on my laptop the pc could not get it trough the same cable for some reason. And thank you to anyone who tried to help with some solutions.
