GPU died. Should I buy a new gpu or go for a new Ryzen build?

So the other day my 7 year old amd HD 6670 finally died, so right now I have 2 options within my budget to revive my pc right now.

My system:
-CPU: Amd fx 6100 (stock)
-Mobo: Asus m5a88-m
-8gb ram ddr3 1333 mhz
-PSU: Corsair 600w Bronze

I use my pc mainly for gaming, and I've seen that the Vega 8 graphics are as good as a GT 1030, so I don't know what's the best option here.

If I buy a graphics card, it would be a gtx 1050 or rx 560 (maybe even a 1060) and get more fps, but I would keep my AM3+ rig which is kind of a dead end for later upgrades. Or go with a newer platform with the Ryzen 2200g (which would be more expensive), and get a good gpu later when (hopefully) the prices go down.

Ty :)
Sorry if my english is bad btw, not native speaker.

Well, your FX CPU is probably going to be a bottle neck with a faster GPU like a 1060, FX is just too old and slow for gaming anymore. I really recommend that Upgrade to the Ryzen APU, with 8 PCI-E lanes it will allow you to slot in up to a GTX 1070 with a minimal hit to FPS versus a non-APU Ryzen 5 equivalent.

I do think the APU upgrade is well worth it, I would push you to the Ryzen 5 2400g if the budget allows, otherwise the 2200g will be good enough for ESports titles like overwatch or CS Go.

Stay away from a 750 Ti, they are hard to find and are usually overpriced and are far slower compared to a GTX 1050 or 1050 ti. I still recommend the APU route as it will give the OP a good CPU and good enough graphics to get by until GPU pricing drops and the Ryzen APU's are capable of handling up to a GTX 1070 with minimal loss in FPS.

Actually, yeah. The motherboard could be swapped for a cheaper B350 motherboard if you can find one that supports the AM4 APU's without a BIOS update, if the price is too much. The MSI B350 PC Mate is around 70 dollars US and would support the APU with a BIOS update, which AMD has boot kits that will send you a CPU to update the BIOS for your new APU.

By going with a B350 board you aren't giving up the ability to upgrade, AM4 is supposed to be supported for a some time yet and B350 should support up and coming Ryzen CPU's with a BIOS update.
