When I first built my rig I had no issue, Usually I had a Lexicon Alpha 2-Channel Recording Studio With A Pyle Microphone And Depending On How I Wanted My Quality Either USB Or Direct Mic Jack. Normally I Used This Combo For Recording Music,High Quality Voice Recording And Discord You Know That Kind Of Junk, But One Day Mysteriously... My Microphone Stopped Working... So I Tried Other Mics. Nothing... I Started Chatting With Friends To See What They Heard, They Said It Sounds Like Static And Low Buzzing... I Thought... Maybe Its My PSU... So I Upgraded .... Negative... No Results... I've Literally Followed Every Little Detail I Could Find On The Web And Yet Still No Answer, The Only Way I Can Get A Mic To Work Is If I Plug Up A Controller And Use A Pair Of Headphones With The Control Jack,This Is Not Efficient For Me ... I Do Not Believe There Was Any Update To Win 10 At The Time.
