I have an Samsung 960 EVO as my boot drive in my desktop, a 5TB Seagate drive for my games and recently I upgraded my laptop's SSD from an 850 evo 120GB to the 250GB version. The 5TB drive in my computer is pretty slow compared to most HDDs since it's 5400RPM, so I wanted to use my spare 120GB SSD to boost the performance of my HDD. I've already tried CAS but it only works with the boot drive which would be my 960 evo and 'boosting' the performance of that with a slower drive is well, stupid for obvious reasons. I want to boost the performance my 5TB drive using the 120GB 850 evo. How would I do this?

If you own an Intel system that is based on a Sandy Bridge or later architecture you can try using Intel Smart Response Technology (SRT).

Intel® Smart Response Technology is an Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST). This technology is a caching feature that improves computer system performance. Intel RST allows you to configure computer systems with a Solid State Drive (SSD), used as a cache memory between the hard disk drive and system memory.
